Breaking News: Full Moon over Artemis II

A full moon is seen shining over NASA’s SLS (Space Launch System) and Orion spacecraft, atop the mobile launcher at Launch Pad 39B at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida in the early hours of February 1, 2026.

The agency successfully completed a wet dress rehearsal for the Artemis II test flight, loading cryogenic propellant into the SLS tanks, closing out Orion, and draining the rocket. This prelaunch test helps identify and resolve any issues before attempting a launch. NASA will now aim for a possible launch in March after reviewing data and conducting a second wet dress rehearsal.
