Michelle Hoehn, a cost accountant at NASA’s Stennis Space Center, found her inspiration during a visit with her dad at the center as a seventh grader. The experience sparked a sense of wonder and purpose in her, leading her to pursue a career at NASA.
After the birth of her first child during her second year at Southeastern Louisiana University, Hoehn decided to focus on building a career in finance and accounting. Drawing on her family background in these fields, she realized that they were the right fit for her.
Today, as a cost accountant in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer at NASA Stennis, Hoehn ensures the accurate recording and reporting of all costs to support financial integrity. Her work is crucial in enabling informed decisions and efficient resource management to further NASA’s mission of space exploration and discovery, particularly in supporting the Artemis program aiming to send astronauts to the Moon and eventually to Mars. Hoehn finds her role deeply rewarding, knowing that her contributions help maintain transparency and efficiency in NASA’s operations, thus advancing the broader goals of space exploration.
