NASA astronaut and deputy Flight Operations Directorate director, Kjell Lindgren, recently took a selfie with panelists and the audience at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory on Feb. 25, 2026. The visit included actors Ryan Gosling and Sandra Huller, screenwriter Drew Goddard, directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, and the producer and writer of the “Project Hail Mary” novel, Andy Weir. In this interaction, they discussed their experiences making the movie and the collaborative efforts between scientists and creative media.
During the movie’s production, NASA provided subject matter experts to assist the creative team and answer any questions they had. Lindgren also had the opportunity to meet with Gosling on set to share his insights into human spaceflight and his experiences as an astronaut.
