Ahmadu Fintiri, governor of Adamawa State, has formally defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statewide broadcast on Friday, Fintiri announced that members of his cabinet and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state had moved with him to the ruling party.
The governor said his decision was driven by the need to fast-track development and act in the best interest of the people of Adamawa State.
