Melissa Harris is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience in human spaceflight programs. Throughout her career, she has played a vital role in various programs and projects that have shaped NASA’s history. Currently, Harris serves as the life cycle lead and Independent Review Team review manager for the Commercial Low Earth Orbit Development Program, where she is guiding the agency through the development of new initiatives aimed at advancing space exploration.
Growing up near NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, Harris developed a deep passion for space exploration from a young age. She pursued her educational goals by earning a bachelor’s degree in legal studies from the University of Houston and obtaining master and subject matter expert certifications in configuration management, as well as an ISO 9001 Lead Auditors Certification. Her dedication and expertise led her to join the International Space Station Program when the opportunity arose, further solidifying her commitment to the field of space exploration and research.
