NASA’s SpaceX Crew-12 mission successfully launched on Friday, carrying four crew members to the International Space Station for a science expedition. The crew, consisting of NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway, ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev, took off at 5:15 a.m. EST from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The spacecraft is expected to dock at the space station’s Harmony module at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14.
NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman commended the crew for their professionalism and teamwork, highlighting the importance of the research they will conduct aboard the space station. The mission aims to advance critical technologies for deep space exploration while also providing benefits to Earth. Both SpaceX and NASA teams will closely monitor the spacecraft’s maneuvers and the space station’s operations throughout the mission from their respective control centers in California and Houston.
